Placement project:
Project Assistant (Academic Publishing & Cultural Exchange)
CSIA is launching an institutional academic journal and publishing scholarly monographs to enhance its role as a platform for cross-cultural research and dialogue. This placement will support the production of high-quality academic outputs, help coordinate international collaborations and contribute to the wider cultural and educational mission of CSIA. The placement is expected to strengthen intercultural understanding, provide valuable research and editorial experience, and help build
Outline of duties:
- Assist with editorial and publishing processes for CSIA’s academic journal and monograph series.
- Conduct background research in areas such as literature, culture, education, and history.
- Support cultural and academic events (e.g. lectures, workshops, and exchanges).
- Draft and edit bilingual (English/Chinese) academic or cultural content.
Contribute to international liaison activities with partner universities and research organisations.
Expected outputs:
- Edited contributions for CSIA’s journal or book project.
- Research briefs or background reports in relevant subject areas.
- Drafted content for public-facing outputs (e.g. event reports, bilingual articles).
End-of-placement presentation summarising contributions and outcomes.
Skills and experience required:
- Background in humanities or social sciences (literature, culture, history, sociology, education, etc.).
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Editorial or publishing experience desirable but not essential.
Bilingual or cross-cultural communication skills an advantage (English/Chinese).
