FVTP Toolkit evaluation – how effective is the toolkit in creating transformation and change?

The toolkit – https://covenantfund.org.uk/female-veterans-toolkit/ – has now been published and will start to be used across sectors. We want to look at how effective the toolkit is and where any changes need to be made to really start transforming services that support female veterans. To do this we want to speak to organisations who have used the toolkit and those that haven’t – if not why, what would make things better/easier to use.

Intended output:

Evaluation report with a set of recommendations for improvement. The report will be written independently by the Centre for Military Women’s Research at Anglia Ruskin University to whom data gathered will be transferred by a data sharing agreement and who will conduct the analysis and map findings.

  • New skills learnt and applied in particular data gathering through focus groups.
  • Connections and networking with professionals in the field which may be helpful for future opportunities

Skills or background required:

  • Understanding or awareness of the armed forces community
  • Experience of running focus groups

Support/supervision provided:

Supervision will be provided through regular checks in, meetings with all members of the project team (Programme lead, Comms Officer and Programme Officer). Further academic mentoring can be provided by Dr Hannah West, Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Military Women’s Research at Anglia Ruskin University.

The Female Veterans’ Transformation Programme has produced an online toolkit for use by service providers in the commercial, statutory, and charitable sectors, helping transform service provision for female veterans. The toolkit will be supported by a communications package raising knowledge and awareness across the sectors.

The 3-year, UK-wide programme is funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, the Office for Veterans’ Affairs, NHS England and the Veterans Foundation
