Thesis title:
The Household Point of View: heterogeneity, information failures and distortions
Abstract:
My research interests are centred on how heterogeneous characteristics influence household decisions and on why households deviate from the rational, computationally unconstrained agent paradigm. In the first paper of my thesis, I study the transmission of monetary policy in the presence of heterogeneous refinancing. In the planned second paper, we investigate how people determine their social behaviour when they are at risk of contracting a disease. Finally in the third planned paper, we incorporate heterogeneous household expectations in a lifecycle model to examine households’ consumption.
