Designing Good Research and Getting it Published in High Impact Journals: A Practical Guide

We are delighted to invite you to this two-day workshop with Prof. Jean-Francois Hennart of Tilburg University. This practical programme covers in fine-grained detail the process of publishing research with high-impact academic journals, from choosing a topic, theory, methodology, and data, to writing with impact and fully understanding the peer-review process. The course is aimed towards PhD students of SSPP and will take place across the Strand and Waterloo Campuses of King’s College London. Please note that in order to attend this course you will be required to attend both sessions and complete a number of mandatory readings in preparation for class discussion and activities. These will be sent to you once you have signed up.

Jean-Francois Hennart has been a Professor of International Management at Tilburg University since 1999. His specific interests lie in applying transaction cost theory to the study of international business institutions, in particular, multinational enterprises. He researches the determinants of the mode of foreign market entry, such as contracts (licensing, franchising) and equity modes, and in particular equity joint ventures. Over the course of his career, Prof. Hennart has taught and researched international business, international management, foreign market entry strategies, and international business policy. He has also been an economist and expert to the United Nations’ Office of Technical Cooperation.
